A. Submit the Letter of Intent
1. Save your Letter of Intent in PDF format.
2. Identify your files using this naming convention "yourlastname_letter". (Ex: SMITH_letter.pdf)
3. Address the letter to: To Whom It May Concern.
4. The letter should provide the following information:
- What made you decide to apply to the Illustration Program?
- Identify courses you have taken which indicate your relevant creative and/or technical skills.
- What aptitudes and abilities do you have that make you a good candidate for this program?
- What type of work do you see yourself doing after completing the program?

B. Submit the 7 specific portfolio drawings.
Details about each drawing are listed below and on the website at the following link
1. Each drawingwill be submitted as a separate file in Jpeg
2. Make sure your the image quality is high. If scanning artwork use colour mode whether or not the images are black and white. If reproducing by photo, make sure photos are in focus and cropped to the edges of the artwork.
3. Identifyyour files using the naming convention "Lastname_Drawing1" ...etc. (ex: jpeg, SMITH_Drawing2.jpeg, SMITH_Drawing3.jpeg, etc.).
4. Use pencil on white paper for these 7 drawings. (i.e refrain from using computer aids.)
- One interior perspective from observation (example: your bedroom or your kitchen, etc.)
- One exterior perspective from observation (example: your neighbourhood/street). This drawing should include neighbouring houses or buildings or roads (i.e. your drawing must include built structures not only landscape).
- Drawing3. Your own hand (not flat) drawn from observation: Show volume/tones/ shading.
- Your own feet drawn from observation: Show volume/tones/shading.
- One portrait from observation: Example: head and shoulders of a person seated and reading in an armchair—include the chair details behind the portrait. Show volume/tones/shading.
- Drawing6. One still life of simple objects similar to a cube, sphere and cylinder. Example: box of tissues, an orange, and a soda can. Show volume/tones/shading.
- Drawing7. One drawing of a figure in an environment. Examples: person seated at a café; man standing in a metro cart; person napping on a couch.
