About Us
The Dawson College Active Learning Classroom (ALC) Community of Practice (CoP) is a growing group of over twenty faculty members and a handful of professionals who support and help each other in making the most of new ALC spaces. We are from many different disciplines and our interests and experience in using Active Learning pedagogies and classrooms varies greatly. We meet bi-monthly to share strategies, encourage each other, learn from each other, review the active learning literature, and hone our skills at using these state-of-the-art learning environments. Importantly, our CoP is self-driven group because it grew out of the faculty-led development of new teaching spaces at Dawson College.
If you are at all interested in Active Learning or in using specialized ALC spaces, or if you’re curious about them, you are welcome to join us. We meet every second Friday in 3F.36 from 2:30 to 4:00. Please feel free to join us, and if you have questions please don’t hesitate to contact us.
