Anastasia De Sousa Memorial Award
This award commemorates the intelligence, drive and determination of Anastasia De Sousa, who was killed during the shooting tragedy at Dawson College on September 13, 2006.
This award is given to a full-time (or deemed full-time) graduating student, who has a learning disability and has been able to overcome one or more major obstacles on the road to academic success. They must be studying at the Cegep level for the first time and have an overall average of at least 70% in every semester they have been at Dawson.
- in addition to having been nominated, must provide a letter of intent by the deadline
- must be a day or evening full-time (or DEEMED full-time) graduating* student
- must be studying at Cegep for the first time
- must have a learning disability (do not need to be registered with AccessAbility department)
- must have maintained an overall average of at least 70% while studying at Dawson College
- must be able to attend Convocation where the award will be presented by the De Sousa family
The recipient must attend Convocation where the award will be presented by the De Sousa family.
Bruno Mital 'B' Positive Scholarship
This scholarship is named after Bruno Mital, a graduate of the Community Recreation and Leadership Training (CRLT) program here at Dawson College and later Chairperson of Dawson College Board of Governors for two years.
This scholarship is designed to recognize a graduating student from Dawson College who has gone above and beyond to help their community, their fellow students, or the Dawson community, without seeking recognition.

- must be have gone above and beyond to help your community without seeking recognition.
Campus Life and Leadership Award of Merit
This award is given to a student who has demonstrated through their participation, involvement, leadership and/or initiative a commitment in improving and/or enhancing student life at Dawson, while achieving and maintaining a high level of academic success.
- must be a graduating* day student
- must have grades 75% or higher
- in addition to having been nominated by a Student Services or Communications Office staff member, must provide a letter of intent by the deadline
Lieutenant Governor's Youth Medal
The purpose of the Lieutenant Governor’s Medal is to recognize the involvement, determination and constant striving of Quebecers who have or have had a positive influence in their community or the Québec nation.
- Canadian Citizen or Permanent resident
- Reside permanently in Quebec
- Aged 29 or less
- Registered in a program recognized by the MInistère de l'Éducation et de l'Enseignement supérieur
- Demonstrated a sustained voluntary action at the community and social levels or have shown an inspiring attitude, a positive influence inside a group or community
- Be able to achieve the objectives of her or his curriculum
- Be nominated by Dawson College
Paul Gallagher Award
This prestigious award is named after Dawson College's first Director General.
Given to up to three graduating students in recognition of community involvement, leadership and academic achievement.
- must be a graduating* day student in good academic standing
- in addition to having been nominated, must provide a letter of intent by the deadline
- must have actively contributed to college life by having participated in the college or student governement, sports, or other college activities, during which you have demonstrated leadership

David Oliver Award
This award is offered by the Association of Dawson Professionals in memory of David Oliver, who was a beloved member of the Student Services staff who died at a young age and is fondly remembered by his colleagues and the students whose lives he touched. Oliver's café in 2C.17 is named after David!
The David Oliver Award is given to a second or third year student in good academic standing, whose involvement in extracurricular activities shows great leadership promise and who best exemplifies the sense of responsibility and integrity within student activities that David Oliver worked so hard to engendre.
