Dawson College – YOU INNOVATE Idea Challenge

The YOU INNVOATE Challenge 2013 is a fast-paced competition that will challenge you to find a new use for a common, everyday item. Student teams of up to four participants will present their innovative new use for the common, everyday item and share their results in a three-minute video posted on YouTube. Last year, the winners of the national contest were from Calgary and transformed egg cartons into jewelry.

You must prove that the transformed object has value to people by demonstrating that there is interest in using or purchasing your item.  Nothing proves the viability of an idea like sales!

In a nutshell:

    • Create a team (of up to four people)
    • Get together to decide how they to use the mystery object as raw materials to create value
    • Get out in the community to prove that your innovation is valuable
    • Create a video explaining the innovation and showing its value (3 minute maximum length) – you can upload to YouTube and submit the link by email to organizer at eweek@dawsoncollege.qc.ca (subject line: YOU INNOVATE)

You must sumbit before November 20th at 1:00pm

THE OBJECT IS………………………………………………………A COFFEE CUP LID.

Use one, use many to convert them into objects of greater value.

When deciding, a panel of judges will evaluate the entries looking for the most compelling solutions. The YOU INNOVATE Challenge 2013 winners will be announced on November 21.
