Child Studies is a limited enrollment profile (140-160 students only) and students should indicate their intention to register in the profile early.

What you’ll learn
For students considering Social Science at Dawson College, Child Studies profile provides a grouping of courses with an emphasis on the psychological, historical, cultural and sociological development of the child.
The profile offers:
- Tailored courses in psychology, sociology, history, and anthropology after the first level.
- The opportunity to complete two volunteer placements (fieldwork) within child oriented institutions. Such as elementary schools, after school programs, girl guides, sports teams, Montreal Children’s Hospital.
- Students are taught several courses in the profile by a core group of instructors. These instructors follow the students’ progress and offer additional encouragement and guidance.
