Commerce Profile (300.FB)

Commerce is a two-year pre-university profile within the Social Science program designed for students interested in studying any commerce-related field (finance, marketing, accounting, human resources, etc.) or any field in the social sciences at university.

This profile is structured so that students take relevant courses in Mathematics and Business Administration while exploring the diversity of the social sciences through the program courses. These courses are central to the development of knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary for future studies and careers.

More than 80% of students that graduate from the Commerce Profile will continue their studies at the university level, in commerce and other fields (law, journalism, psychology…).

Among the skills you will acquire in the Commerce Profile are how to:

• recognize the significant role the social sciences play in understanding the business environment
• use mathematical analysis to understand and solve business problems
• analyze basic business problems, assess alternatives, and propose solutions
• apply mathematical analysis to understand and solve business problems
• apply relevant economic, business and marketing concepts or theories in understanding business problems
• undertake critical analysis of business
• seize opportunities and deal with challenges, orally and in writing
• perform assigned tasks alone and in groups
• recognize the significant role the social sciences play in understanding the business environment
