Career Resource Centre

If you need to…

  • Research careers
  • Look at university websites
  • Learn how to write a great C.V.
  • Find out how to get your commercial pilot’s license
  • Read about working and studying abroad
  • Know which Canadian universities offer cognitive science
  • Find out what you can do with a major in psychology
  • Take out a book on careers for people who love animals
  • Take a career interest inventory

…then visit the Career Resource Centre in Room 2D.7. The Centre is a library where students can research educational and career planning materials and more. Online and print resources include Canadian and American college and university directories, international study guides, and occupational descriptions including job prospects, salaries and career paths. There is also a lending library with a collection of books on every imaginable career from accountant to zoologist.

The Career Resource Centre is staffed by professional counsellors who assist students with their research, help with the interpretation of interest inventories, and provide brief, private career counselling sessions. No appointment is necessary. The Centre’s hours are posted on the MyDawson portal and in Room 2D.7.
