How to change your Dawson network password
Option 1
Step 1 ? Create a new network password using the following rules:
- Be at least 8 characters in lengths
- Contain at least 1 character from 3 of the following 4 categories:
a) Uppercase letters, A to Z
b) Lowercase letters, a to z
c) Numbers, 0 to 9
d) Special characters like (_, !, #, $, % ) - Must not contain your username, first or last name
- Not 1 of the last 5 passwords used in the past
Step 2 ? Change the network password
WARNING: DO NOT USE THE DAWSON WIRELESS NETWORK WHEN CHANGING YOUR PASSWORD! IT WILL FAIL AND YOU WILL HAVE TO GO IN PERSON TO THE COMPUTER HELPDESK TO GET IT FIXED.
Option 1 – Log into the MyDawson portal and click on the link ?Network Account? on the left-hand menu under My Dawson Life. Click on ?Change Password? and enter your new password. Also set your security questions if you haven’t already done so.
Option 2 ? Using any college computer running Microsoft Windows, press Ctl-Alt-Del, select ?Change Password? from the menu, enter your old and new passwords.
Step 3 – Log into the Dawson network using your new password to confirm it is working correctly.
Students – Report login problems to the computer helpdesk counter at 2H.12. Please bring your Dawson ID card or other documents (e.g. Medicare, Driver?s permit) to confirm your identity.
Employees – IMPORTANT: after changing your password, see this checklist to ensure you have reconfigured all systems that depend on your network password.
