University Options

Many students in Mech Tech choose to continue their engineering studies at the university level. Dawson Mech Tech students have successfully gone on to many universities but the most popular choices are Concordia and ETS. Essentially Concordia requires four courses outside of Mech Tech but grants equivalency for three of the courses taken in Mech Tech, however the route to Concordia needs to be initiated early in the Mech Tech program. ETS on the other hand does not require any courses outside of Mech Tech (although having the NYA Cal I and NYA Physics is an asset) but proficiency in French (or a willingness to become so) is essential.

For Concordia
Term 2: take NYA Cal 1 through ContEd
Term 3: take NYA Physics through ContEd, exemption to Math is granted provided the student has already passed NYA Cal I.
Term 4: take NYA Cal II and Chem I through ContEd, exemption to Physics is granted provided the student has already passed NYA Physics.
Term 5: take NYB Physics through ContEd
Term 6: take Linear through ContEd
