Dawson College is committed first and foremost to serving its students, through the continual improvement of the teaching and learning that take place within its walls. To that end, and in accordance with Bylaw 4 (Article 12) , the College evaluates teachers on a regular basis using procedures developed by members of the Dawson Community.
This community includes teachers, students, professionals, and academic administrators.
Teacher evaluation is carried out under the direction of the OAD, which views its mandate not only as a directive flowing from the bylaw, but as a service to the community.
New teachers are evaluated every year until they reach three years’ seniority; all other teachers are evaluated once every two years (with some exceptions).
