Program Development and Revision
The Program Development and Revision Office is responsible for leading the development and revision of College programs.
We assist programs in ensuring that program design and structure adhere to ministerial guidelines, in establishing advisory groups and in coordinating the revision process.
Program Revision
Program revisions are conducted by the Program Development and Revision Office in conjunction with a writing committee comprised of Dawson faculty and staff, an external advisory group consisting of outside experts and the program committee.
Programs may be revised when specific recommendations are made as part of a formal evaluation process or in response to feedback generated through ongoing self-evaluation. Programs will also be revised when competencies are changed by the Ministère de l’Enseignement supérieur, de la Recherché et de la Science. As well, a revision may be required when a major change is planned or has occurred in the factors that affect the program (e.g. the industry or field addressed by the program).
The following DEC programs were recently revised:
- Arts, Literature and Communication (500.A1)
- Graphic Design (570.G0)
- Laboratory Technology – Analytical Chemistry (210.A0)
- Liberal Arts Program (700.B0)
- Professional Theatre (Acting) (561.C0)
