There are a variety of College Initiatives and Projects that have come to life as a result of external funding. Such projects include, the Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, the First People’s Initiative, Active Learning and Pedagogical Centre for Innovation, Dawson  Engineering Mathematics TutorialTutorial for OQLF Exam (Centre for Training and Development), and the Learning Communities initiative is a shortlist of ongoing and successful projects that have received funding.

APOP: L’Association pour les applications pédagogiques de l’ordinateur au post­secondaire

This is a nonprofit professional association, working to promote the pedagogical integration of IT (Information Technology) into teaching and learning.

This association provides in-kind support and collaboration for the creation of workshops that are focused on techno-pedagogy, including use of certain kinds of technology and most importantly how to design appropriate curricula to most effectively take advantage of educational classroom technology like tablets, Smartboards etc. For more information please click here.

 

CCDMD - Collegial Centre for Educational Materials Development

Dawson Faculty who are interested in developing learning resources (education materials) may apply for support from the CCDMD.

“Educational materials,” refers to any type of print or digital resource used for learning or teaching one or more competencies in a program of study. The educational materials can be a textbook (print or digital ), a website, educational software or courseware, a pedagogical scenario, a series of photos or videos, a series of Netquiz exercises, etc.

ECQ: Entente Canada-Québec

The Entente Canada – Québec is a Federal/Provincial funding agreement whereby the Federal government transfers funds to the provinces to financially support projects originating in post-secondary minority language educational establishments. The principle focus of this particular granting agency is to fund projects that ameliorate, support or create new pedagogical tools, structures or designs.

Entente Canada-Québec – MEESRS

Google Community Grants

Grants are largely focused on STEM disciplines. These are granted to educational institutions or community groups. For more information please click here.

LCEEQ: Resource Development Grants

Resource Development Grants:  the LCCEEQ will provide financial support for short term projects that will enhance and support, student learning and effective pedagogical and andragogical practice, professional development and delivery models appropriate to the English sector.

Deadline: Annually in June

Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development Canada

Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development Canada (AANDC) provides funding for programs, services and initiatives to First Nation, Inuit and Northern communities, governments and individuals as well as to Aboriginal and Métis organizations. This Federal Department supports several Calls for Proposals per year aimed at funding a variety of differently targeted programs.

Deadline: There are currently no Calls for Proposals at this time

 

Applications are remitted in English

NovaScience: Ministère de l'économie, de l'innovation et des exportations

Focuses on the persistence, expansion and high level training of students at all educational levels in STEM. In particular this grant is looking to teaching practices as the principle means of achieving those objectives. More information can be found on the website.

Internal Deadline: to be determined

Supported by MEESRS, this program aims to support initiatives by CEGEPs to put into place measures, structures and programs that will facilitate increased access, perseverance and the successful graduation of Indigenous students.

Ce programme a pour but de soutenir les établissements d’enseignement collégial qui organisent des activités sociopédagogiques ou socioculturelles visant :

  • l’accueil et l’intégration d’étudiantes et d’étudiants québécois issus de l’immigration;
  • l’éducation interculturelle;
  • l’éducation aux droits et à la citoyenneté

TIPSA is a ministerial funded agency that provides funding for vocational and technical programs that seek to increase enrollment, perseverance and graduation rates for students in these programs.

Deadline: To be determined

 

VTIPSC creates awareness among Québec’s English-speaking population of the programs of study available in the vocational and technical sectors and promotes the services offered by the education community with respect to the recognition of acquired competencies and career opportunities for graduates of vocational and technical programs.
