Antonietta Grassi

Antonietta Grassi has been teaching at Dawson in the visual arts department since 1998. She holds a degree in Design from Ryerson University in Toronto, a B.F.A from Concordia University in Montreal, and an M.F.A from l’Universite du Québec a Montreal. She has had numerous solo and group exhibitions across Canada, Italy, and Europe. She has participated in notable shows on contemporary abstract painting such as Peinture Peinture  (organized by Rene Blouin in Montreal), Peintures de genres:  L’actualité de la peinture abstraite au Quebec in  Lyon, France, Hommage to Yves Gaucher  at the Leonard and Bina Ellen Art Gallery in Montreal,  and  more recently, L’Abstraction: une maniere de voir,  at the Musée du Québec. Her major exhibitions include the Scar Calendar (1996-1998), Painting Dot Com (1998- 2000), Babble (2000- 2003), and Mots Perdus (2003- 2006). She is the recipient of numerous grants such as the Canada Council for the Arts and the Conseil des Arts et Lettres du Quebec. Her work can be found in numerous public and private collections, including the Musée du Québec.
